Gentlemen

As you will all know by now, last night we lost a good friend. Everything about Des was good and positive - his enthusiasm was infectious - his love for singing, sailing, shanties and yes, even imbibing a few quarts of honest malt liquor in the pub.

We will all miss his laugh and twinkling eyes.

He’ll be singing those shanties in heaven and rocking its foundations with that lovely deep bass voice.

The last conversation I had with Des was in the Tap n Spile in early September and, although he was a bit quieter than normal, he told me how happy he was with the spirit we’d all engendered within VoiceMale.

Our thoughts are with Anthea and his family and with the many, many friends Des had gathered around him from all over the world in so many different walks of life.

Blue skies old shipmate. You are a true legend and we’ll all miss you. With love and affection.
