Yous guys just sing for glory yous guys
Yous guys just sing for glory yous guys Yous guys just sing for glory Sound a bit rough but whose gonna worry Yous guys just sing for glory yous guys Only joking!! We sounded vunderbar!!! Another great evening, and great ambience. Seems a great shame to end the term next week when we have so much momentum going at the moment. We currently have just short of 30 members which is a record in my time with the choir - we must be doing something right!! For those who were counting there were 48 knees on show last night - clearly there is a majority of us who feel that summer is, at least for now, in abeyance as there were only 6 visible naked knees - but lovely knees they were - and each knee had a story to tell……but I digress …..! Interesting to note that the 8 tunes were well outnumbered by the middles and a good cohort of basses last night. That’s a fairly unusual event!!! We were able to welcome Alan to the team - he really seemed to enjoy himself and looked immediately at home in the middles sandwiched between Gez and David M. We really hope you enjoy your time with VoiceMale Alan - we’re a nice bunch of guys on the whole, honest……….. Jon had us revisiting You (ye!) mariners all️ followed by Roll on the day - and then great solos by Will and Joe on This train . They were beautifully accompanied and supported by excellently timed ba ba’s and dum dum days from the lads - well done chaps. No liars, con men, wheeler dealers, rustlers, side street walkers (?) or hustlers were evident in VoiceMale last night!!! So our repertoire (especially our ‘train’ repertoire) continues to grow. Nice to see we’re including a few more drinking songs (well one anyway) which fairly accurately reflects the feeling and ambience within the group . Unfortunately this was Jon’s last session before the end of term but fear not as Sandra has stepped in to the breach for next week and will be taking us - look up Bill Withers singing ‘Lean on me’ as I understand that’s what Sandra will be teaching us. Great song!! Jon says it’s now on the VoiceMale members soundcloud link - I’ve just listened to it and it sounds fabulous. I’m sure we’ll all be warbling away in the shower this week!! So in conclusion - last session of the term next Wednesday 19th July. First session of the Autumn term is Wednesday 30th August. First gig is the Harbottle Show on the afternoon of Saturday 2nd September which will be a great gig to bring your family and loved ones to!!! The terrier racing (if it’s on) is a great laugh - and if not there’s always the monster leeks and onions to marvel at. There may even be a bit of post gig singing in the Star ️ in Harbottle . As always onwards and upwards VoiceMale ️. Have a great weekend. See you next Wednesday. Chris
